PirateFest is the region’s signature community event designed to celebrate eastern North Carolina’s rich pirate history. The annual festival draws an estimated 35,000 people and over 150 vendors for two days of live music, delicious and unique food, art sale, roaming pirates, and more! The First Friday ArtWalk is a time when galleries in the Uptown area throw open their doors to showcase new exhibits, often coinciding with free opening receptions. This monthly event happens on the first Friday of every month. In addition to art, locals enjoy Uptown’s eclectic mix of restaurants and shops along your stroll. Sunday in the Park is a summer concert series that takes place at the Greenville Town Common. The event features a different live band every Sunday eventing for free family fun and entertainment. This summer concert series is held at the Town Common on 1st Street from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. Food and beverages are available for purchase. The Umbrella Market takes place every Wednesday afternoon during the summer months. The market runs 5:00-8:00 pm on Wednesdays in May and June in Five Points Plaza at the corner of 5th & Evans Streets in Uptown Greenville. At this weekly open-air farmer’s market, you’ll find fresh produce, meats, eggs, handmade arts, jewelry, antiques, homemade bath products, baked goods, wine, local craft brew, and more!
